The Duqm refinery in the Duqm economic zone in southern Oman is one of the largest joint investment projects between Kuwait and Oman by the Omani Okio Group and Kuwait Petroleum Company.
At a historic event on February 7, 2024, His Highness the Amir
Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah (May Allah protect him), His Majesty Sultan Haitham Bin Tariq (May Allah protect him), inaugurated the refinery in a huge ceremony marking the start of commercial operations.
The Duqm refinery, with an investment value of about $9 billion, is a valuable addition to the global energy market by providing high-quality oil products. It is one of the newest and largest refineries in the Middle East and North Africa. It relies on imported crude oil for its operations and is looking to be a global leader in refining committed to delivering outstanding oil products to customers worldwide.
