The National Petroleum Company exports a shipment of motor fuel (95 octane) to European markets
24-07-2023
The Kuwait National Petroleum Company announced that it had exported the first shipment of gasoline (motor fuel - octane 95), which is low in sulfur and aromatic compounds, and conforms to international environmental specifications and standards, to European markets.
Executive Vice President of Fuel Supply Operations and official spokesman for the company, Ghanim Al-Otaibi, told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) today, Monday, that the volume of the shipment that was exported from Mina Al-Ahmadi amounted to 35 thousand tons, and it was loaded on board the oil tanker (Pacific Sarah).
Al-Otaibi added that the export of this shipment was carried out in cooperation and coordination with the global marketing sector of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, after the company was able to meet the entire local market's need for this product.
He stressed that this step brings the company added value to the price of a metric ton of naphtha, which is the intermediate oil used in the production of motor fuels, and thus significantly increases the final profit margin.
He stated that the company has been able, since operating the environmental fuel project in March 2022, to achieve profitable additional financial returns from selling its products that conform to international standards approved in the European and American markets.
He pointed out that selling products that conform to international standards enhances the company's profitability and contributes to supporting the national economy, especially with the growing global demand for environmentally friendly oil products.
