The Ministry of Oil participates in the Fourth Petroleum Media Forum for the Gulf States

The Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil announced its participation in the Fourth Petroleum Media Forum for the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, which was held at the pavilion of the General Secretariat of the Gulf States during the Expo 2021 Dubai during the 14th and 15th of November 2021, with a delegation that includes the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil Sheikh Dr. Nimr Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, And Director of Public Relations and Media at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
The Ministry of Oil said in a press statement that the Fourth Petroleum Media Forum for the Gulf States is a unique event for the development of joint Gulf action in the field of energy, pointing out that the forum was held under the slogan “Global Energy Transformation… Different Scenarios” and witnessed 6 panel discussions, lectures and workshops Worked for two consecutive days.
The Ministry of Oil added that the Arab Gulf states were keen to organize the forum on a regular basis, for the fourth time in a row, with the aim of highlighting the role of the oil sector and the achievements of the petroleum industry in the GCC countries and its contributions to the global economy and the dissemination of petroleum culture and continuous communication between the oil and gas sector on the one hand and the local and global media sector on the one hand. Others, as well as enhancing the skills of specialized media professionals to play their role in conveying the correct image of the petroleum sector.
“Al-Naft” stressed that the State of Kuwait was keen on the participation of many officials, academics and specialized oil experts from the State of Kuwait in the working sessions and seminars and with many working papers that would enrich the dialogue and provide great scientific value and constructive discussion, as the State of Kuwait prepared the axes of the sessions and selected the speakers for the forum .
She added that the meetings of the working group concerned with preparing and coordinating the Fourth Petroleum Media Forum discussed over several months prior to the forum many topics related to the media strategy emanating from the GCC joint petroleum strategy, and a proposal to prepare specialized media workshops during training workshops within the Petroleum Media Forum. A number of recommendations and topics were taken to develop joint Gulf action in the field of energy.
She said that the idea of the petroleum media strategy began since the State of Kuwait presented a paper on the impact of petroleum media in the GCC states at the meeting of the Petroleum Cooperation Committee, which is a major player in directing public opinion, and based on the fact that oil is a strategic commodity and a major source of energy and the main engine of the economies of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the global economy. And because of the distinguished global oil weight and position of the GCC countries, as these countries seek to achieve their petroleum interests and achieve stability in the global oil markets with all parties.
She explained that the Petroleum Cooperation Committee in the Gulf Cooperation Council decided in its 29th meeting, which was held in the State of Kuwait on October 10, 2010, to prepare a strategy for petroleum media in coordination with and derived from the Petroleum Strategy Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council states. The Petroleum Media Strategy for the Gulf States. In its 31st meeting, which was held in Riyadh on October 9, 2012, the Petroleum Cooperation Committee blessed the convening of the first Petroleum Media Forum on the soil of the State of Kuwait in March 2013.
