Al-Fares participates in one of the discussion sessions of the Saudi Green Initiative Forum

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed Abdul Latif Al-Fares, Minister of Oil and Minister of Higher Education, participated in a high-level Kuwaiti delegation that includes Sheikh Dr. Nimr Al-Sabah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, the CEO of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Mr. Hashem Sayed Hashem, and Sheikh Abdullah Al-Sabah, President of the Environment Public Authority, the Saudi Green Initiative Forum on Saturday, corresponding to October 23, 2021 in Riyadh, which was held under the slogan "A new stage of work: OASIS ALIVE" and the opening ceremony will be attended by global leaders from government, business, finance and civil society to unite efforts in confronting climate change, protecting marine life, and preserving biodiversity. This event will witness an exclusive vision for the Saudi Green Initiative strategy, including the goal of achieving 50% of renewable energy sources by 2030 and planting 10 billion trees in the coming decades. Kuwait’s green contributions, and on the sidelines of the forum, His Excellency Dr. Al-Fares met with a number of officials, including the Secretary-General of the International Energy Forum, Joseph McMoonig. A number of topics of common interest were discussed.
