Minister of Oil and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Mohammed Al-Faris said today, Sunday, that Kuwait "always supports any collective decision taken by (OPEC Plus) and it is by everyone's consensus."
Al-Fares said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that all options in the (OPEC Plus) meetings are presented and discussed, and then the best and most appropriate decisions are unanimously adopted for the benefit of the oil market.
He pointed out that (OPEC Plus) follows a specific mechanism to reach its decisions, as the Ministerial Committee for Production Control (JMMC) studies and analyzes market developments, which are reviewed by the Joint Technical Committee (JTC) and the secretariat of (OPEC) before coming up with recommendations to be submitted to the ministerial meeting (OPEC Plus). There is consensus around it collectively to reach a unanimous decision after a well-thought-out process.
And he indicated that any decision that is adopted is by consensus, in line with the procedures followed within the (OPEC Plus) system, stressing that no decision has yet been reached regarding the next meeting, which will be held next Wednesday.
