His Highness the Prime Minister pays a visit to the headquarters of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company in the Ahmadi area

His Highness Sheikh Sabah Khaled Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, Prime Minister, visited today the headquarters of the Kuwait National Petroleum Company in the Ahmadi area.
At the forefront of my future His Highness was His Excellency the Minister of Oil and Minister of Higher Education Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latif Al-Faris, the CEO of the Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation, Hashem Sayed Hashem, and a number of senior officials in the corporation and its subsidiaries.
During the visit, His Highness listened to an explanation of the latest developments of the environmental fuel project, the percentage of completion in it, the operational and refining capacity of the project's refineries, as well as its objectives, locations and scope of work.
Then His Highness toured Mina Abdullah and Mina Al Ahmadi, which included the project units, control rooms and the most important equipment used for refining.
At the conclusion of his visit, His Highness the Prime Minister said in a press statement, "The environmental fuel project is one of the giant strategic projects that serve Kuwait's vision 2035 and contribute to the modernization, development and expansion of the Mina Abdullah refinery and the Mina Al-Ahmadi refinery to form an integrated refining center with a production capacity of 800,000 barrels per day."
His Highness added that this project would achieve an international reputation for Kuwait in the field of refining, and its most important objectives are to reduce emissions and pollutants in the environment according to the most accurate international standards, which constitutes a great challenge.
His Highness the Prime Minister indicated that this project will have a significant economic return of approximately 11.5 percent, which will boost Kuwait's economy in addition to creating 1,000 job opportunities for male and female citizens.
His Highness said that one of the important objectives of the project is to provide a high-quality product, reduce environmental emissions and diversify products, which are very important matters.
His Highness the Prime Minister explained that the project went through a great challenge represented by the difficult climatic conditions as a result of rain in 2018, and then the Corona pandemic, which led to the postponement and disruption of the implementation of the project.
His Highness expressed his happiness for visiting the environmental fuel project and thanked and appreciated the young men and women for their supervision in managing refineries with international companies and creating and innovating ideas that are praised by developed countries in the oil field.
His Highness was accompanied during his tour by the Head of the Diwan of His Highness the Prime Minister Abdulaziz Dakhil Al-Dakhil.
