The official spokesman for (Quebec) Abdullah Al-Ajmi said in a statement to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the shipment arrived on board the Qatari tanker (Al-Kharsaa), a Q-Flex model, designated for transporting liquefied natural gas, which sailed from the State of Qatar to the liquefied natural gas port in the region. perjury. Al-Ajmi, who also holds the position of Executive Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs at the agency, said that this shipment is the first this year to transport liquefied natural gas, which is a qualitative leap in the progress of the completion of projects of the Al-Zour oil complex. He expressed his happiness with this achievement in the project of importing liquefied natural gas facilities and the transition from the construction phase to the operating phase, indicating that it is scheduled to receive the second shipment on the world's largest liquefied natural gas tanker (Q-Flex) model, which is enhanced by the latest technologies and has a capacity of 217,000. cubic meters of liquefied natural gas. He pointed out that the operations to import liquefied gas from Qatar come within the quantities agreed upon between the global marketing sector of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and Qatargas Company, to launch the first phase of operating the liquefied natural gas import facilities on the 27th of this month, as the completion of all stages and shipments will be completed by next December. . He stated that the first phase of the project to operate the natural gas import units includes operating four out of 8 tanks with their facilities and support services by conducting the cooling process, pointing out that the unloading process from the first tanker will be limited to filling only one tank. He added that the project to import liquefied natural gas is the first of its kind in Kuwait and one of the largest facilities for importing liquefied natural gas in the world in terms of storage capacity, as it contains 8 tanks with a capacity of 225 thousand cubic meters each. Al-Ajmi stated that the project of permanent units to import liquefied natural gas is part of the long-term strategic plan of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation for the year 2040 to support its commitment to provide the country's current and future energy needs of optimal fuel economically and environmentally. He stressed the importance of the project, which will contribute to meeting the clean energy needs of electricity and water plants, in addition to the needs of oil refineries and petrochemical industries, which will lead to maximizing the economic return of the State of Kuwait by making more possible. He praised the concerted efforts that achieved this achievement from associate companies and all government agencies that worked as one team. to achieve this feat.
