The Ministry of Oil announced that the Organizing Committee for the 2021 Digital Transformation Award will start launching the award’s activities from 4 to 30 May, with the participation of many applicants from various oil and academic bodies.
The Ministry of Oil said in a press statement that the Digital Transformation Award is the first of its kind ever, and through which the Ministry targets a number of specialized segments related to the creation of an advanced digital oil program that is used to implement and follow up all oil operations through artificial intelligence, which helps to learn digital skills. Al-Naft stated that according to the deadlines set by the Organizing Committee for the Digital Transformation Award, a date has been set from 1 to 8 June for final delivery and evaluation, provided that the final results will be on June 10, 2021, noting that the field of application and registration was open on the Ministry of Oil website during The period from March 28 to April 25 this year.
The Ministry of Oil indicated that it was agreed to define 4 categories to participate in the award, including the academic aspect represented by Kuwait University, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, and the oil sector represented by the Ministry of Oil, Kuwait Oil Company, Kuwait Gulf Oil Company and Kuwait National Petroleum Company, and the target groups in the award are As follows: The first category includes female students and students of relevant governmental and private universities and specialized institutes, the second category, which includes the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation group and its subsidiary companies, and the third category, which includes a group of technical specialties in the Ministry of Oil, and the fourth category includes non-employee graduates with 5 years of experience Less, indicating that the mechanism used for registration will be through the website of the Ministry of Oil.
Regarding the awards, the Ministry stated that the first category of awards will be in which the two best teams (first and second) will have opportunities to enroll in training courses (a total of 6 people) at Schlumberger, and based on the performance in training, an opportunity will be provided to obtain a job in Schlumberger, while the second category of awards The awarding of the two best teams includes a training program in one of the education and training centers affiliated with Schlumberger on digital innovation in the oil and gas industry, while the third category includes awarding the best two people who designed a digital dashboard and a training program held by experts in Schlumberger Kuwait.
It should be noted that the award targets technical cadres and youth energies from academic and oil bodies and they are partners of success in the completion of the initiative, with the participation of a number of bodies: Kuwait University, the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, Kuwait Oil Company and Schlumberger Kuwait, as well as the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research and the Kuwaiti Company Gulf Oil, the Kuwait National Petroleum Corporation, the Australian College of Kuwait (ACK), the American University of the Middle East ((AUM), and the American University of Kuwait (AUK).
