His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Dr. Bader Al-Mulla, headed the Kuwaiti delegation participating in the forty-sixth meeting of the Joint Ministerial Production Monitoring Committee (JMMC), as well as the thirty-fourth ministerial meeting of the OPEC Plus, which was held via Videoconference on Sunday, December 04, 2022. The delegation included the Governor of the State of Kuwait to OPEC Mr. Muhammad Al-Shatti; and the National Representative of the State of Kuwait to OPEC Sheikh Abdullah Sabah Salem Al-Hamoud Al-Sabah.
AlMulla praised the outcome of the ministerial meetings, emphasizing to remain vigilant, following the strategy of monitoring market developments and help stable market through proactive initiatives.
AlMulla further explained, OPEC Plus’s decision is based on market developments and assures market stability, and that the State of Kuwait is fully committed to the decision of OPEC Plus.
He stated that the OPEC Plus group is following the repercussions of indicators of the slowdown in the global economy, levels of inflation, interest rate increases, and the rise in commodity prices, and their effects on the rate of growth in oil demand, which requires continued caution and follow-up of market developments.
