The Ministry of Oil launches the Digital Transformation Award

The Ministry of Oil revealed that it has organized the Digital Transformation Award, through which the Ministry targets a number of specialized segments related to the establishment of an advanced digital oil program that is used to implement and follow up all operations Oil via artificial intelligence, which helps to learn new digital skills, which all are part of the Ministry of Oil's relentless efforts to digital transformation and achieve sustainable development in line with the strategy of the State of Kuwait for the year 2035. The Ministry of Oil stated in a press statement that the Technical Affairs and Technical and Technological Sector Program at the Ministry of Oil is responsible for the award, in cooperation with the Ministry's Public Relations Department. The entities are: Kuwait University, The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, the Kuwait Oil Company and the Schlumberger Kuwait Company, as well as the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, the Kuwait Gulf Oil Company, the Kuwait National Petroleum Company and the Australian College of Kuwait (AUM), The American University in Kuwait (AUM) and the American University of the Middle East (ACK). The Ministry of Oil stated that agreement and coordination had been reached with Kuwait University and The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training as for the start of the award which will be at the beginning of the semester so that students could join and be encouraged to register and participate. Where the date of the enrollment and registration will be during the period from March 28, 2021 to April 17, 2021, on the condition that the start of launch, participation and workshops will be on April 18, 2021. The final delivery will be on May 23, 2021, the final presentation and evaluation will be on May 27, and the final results will be on June 3, 2021. The Ministry of Oil stated that it was agreed to define four categories that includes the Academic aspect represented by Kuwait University, The Public Authority for Applied Education and Training, the oil sector represented by the Ministry of Oil and Kuwait Oil Company, and the target groups in the award are as follows: The first category, which includes male and female students of relevant governmental and private universities and specialized institutes, the second category which includes the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation group and its subsidiaries, the third category which includes a group of technical specialties in the Ministry of Oil and as for the fourth category, it includes non-employed graduates with experience of 5 years or less, indicating that the mechanism used for registration will be through the website of the Ministry of Oil, regarding the fields of the award, the Ministry of Oil stated that it contains 3 areas: the first field analyzing data and changing it into digital data, the second field for monitoring the efficiency of pumps, and the third field designing and programming dashboards (dedicated to the third category only / group of technical specialties in the Ministry of Oil). Regarding to the awards, the Ministry stated that the first category of prizes will be in which the two best teams (first and second) will have opportunities to enroll in training courses (a total of 6 people) at Schlumberger, and based on the performance in training, an opportunity will be provided to obtain a job in Schlumberger. As for the second category of awards, it includes awarding the two best teams a training program at one of Schlumberger's education and training centers on digital innovation in the oil and gas industry. Regarding the third category of awards, the Ministry of Oil stated that it includes awarding the best two people who designed a digital dashboard, a training program to be held by experts at Schlumberger Kuwait. The Ministry of Oil stated, that it was agreed that there would be a committee or organizational team to follow up on the progress of the award’s operations, preparation, coordination and supervision of the award’s media plan, supervision and follow-up of the website, preparing invitations, official books and the official correspondence mechanism through the Ministry of Oil and sending it to all participating parties and launching the award’s registration page in the Ministry of Oil website and the evaluation process for the participants.
