In continuation to the success achieved by the project since its launch in 2003, the Ministry of Oil represented by the Department of Public Relations and Information announced the launch of the Petroleum Culture Project coinciding with the beginning of the new academic year 2022-2023, with the aim of instilling petroleum culture and raising public awareness among the younger generation of the Kuwaiti oil industry, Which is the main pillar and engine of the national economy.
In this context, Director of Public Relations and Information at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said that the petroleum culture project in the Ministry of Oil is the first of its kind in the oil sector, as the Ministry of Oil has taken the lead in adopting and spreading it among student circles since 2003, meaning what It is more than 19 years old, noting that the project aims to raise awareness of how to preserve oil as a national wealth and use it in the correct manner that achieves the highest benefit to ensure a better future for future generations.
She explained that in this context, the Ministry of Oil organized its first tour of schools, coinciding with the start of the new academic year and the regularity of the study in attendance for all students after the end of the Corona pandemic crisis, where the team of the Ministry of Oil visited Maryam Abdul Malik Primary School for Girls, to be followed by many visits and a reception Students at the Ministry's headquarters during the coming period.
Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah stated that the Ministry of Oil has taken a decision to form a work team for petroleum culture with the aim of making this project a success in its current cycle in terms of coordination and follow-up with different schools and in order to update the study materials used according to artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
Forming a work team
She indicated that the petroleum culture work team will be tasked with preparing the annual plan for the petroleum culture project and coordinating with government agencies represented in the Ministry of Education, the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation and its subsidiaries, the Ministry of State for Youth Affairs, public benefit associations and other parties, indicating that the team will prepare the necessary scientific materials and implement the timetable. For the general plan, and the establishment of petroleum lectures to disseminate specialized knowledge of the Kuwaiti petroleum industry, as well as organizing field visits to authorized petroleum installations.
Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah explained that the team will follow up and evaluate the general plan of the petroleum culture project, develop the means used in accordance with the permissible standards, set up local exhibitions to raise awareness of petroleum culture and organize awareness campaigns to spread petroleum culture among Kuwaiti society. Continuous meetings with school principals, hosting students in the oil complex building, and preparing statistics and information on the number of participants, whether from different schools or male and female students.
She indicated that the petroleum culture work team will be headed by the Director of the Public Relations and Media Department, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the membership of: Senior Media Researcher Fahad Anwar Al-Othman as Vice President, Senior Administrative Coordinator Abdullah Mutaib Al-Bassam, Administrative Transactions Coordinator Muhammad Yousef Al-Nafisi, Senior Assistant Administrative Coordinator Badr Abdullah Al-Najdi, Assistant Administrative Coordinator Hussain Daoud Al-Sarraf, Junior Researcher Media Ali Mukhtar Al-Sarraf, Junior Researcher Media Fatima Fawzi Al-Rish, and Junior Researcher Media Suleiman Malik Al-Wazzan.
Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah concluded her speech by saying that the lectures continue throughout the current academic year, and this season is aimed at reaching the largest segment of students, as the lectures will focus on the beginnings of oil, how to discover it and its importance, as well as the future importance of petroleum and its derivatives and the industries based on it.
