Minister of oil: (Kuwait Oil) discovers three new oil despite the challenges of Corona

The Minister of oil, Electricity and Water Dr.Muhmmad Al-Faris announced on Monday, the discovery of new fields in the Kuwait Oil Company in Jurassic layers in different regions of the country. In addition to the field’s development operations, an extend discovery of the northern part of Bugan’s largest field. Al Faris claimed in a statement to Kuwait News Agency, that the first discovery was in (Houmah) field which is located in the northwestern part of Kuwait. The preliminary evaluation results has emerged after drilling (Houma 1) well-spaced area it was surveyed by using the 3D seismic survey technique, is about 70 square kilometers of the Jurassic resoiur, with a turnover capacity of 1452 barrels of light oil per day. Also, this shows the importance of the great economic as it authorizes the undiscovered large areas in the western and northwestern parts in Kuwait. According to the strategic 2040 plan of Kuwait Oil Company, it directly contributes to increase the capacity of oil reserves and production. Al-Faris claimed, that the second discovery was in an area called Al-Qashaaniya which is located north side of Kuwait, near two areas called AlRawadtain and Sabriya in the Jurassic reservoir. As the preliminary results after drilling (Qashaaniya1) well which was discovered from light oil commercial production of 1819 barrels per day, with a certain weight of 49 (APl) with associate gas of 2,78 million cubic feet per day. Two discoveries have been confirmed and added an importance strategic to the northern part of the country, however the area was not explored before. Also, it was mentioned that the “conventional oil” was discovered at Burgan’s largest field in the reservoirs of Wara, Mawdud and Burgan. However, several wells were drilled in 2020 have drifted in commercial quantities determined the extent of the field at daily production rate of more than 2000 barrels, which paves the way for increasing reserves. It was reported that the results has granted Kuwait Oil Company a chance to reach for easy and low-cost reservoir, that supports the company’s efforts to maintain to companies. Which indicates that, the company will drill for new wells in discovered fields to boost production quantities. Al-Faris, has praised to Kuwait Oil Company success in achieving these three discoveries in 2020, despite all the circumstances the country has faced during the emerging of the Corona Virus (Covid-19), throughout all the hard work to the adherence to the health requirements. Also, the capacity of oil cycle was stated to withstand and tender to the circumstances and clear commitment shown by Kuwait Oil Company, in exploration and work development to ensure a bright future for Kuwait.
