Ministry of Oil: Specialized Gulf Symposium Tomorrow on the Impact of the Corona Pandemic on the Petroleum Industry

Shiekha Tamader Khalid Al-Ahmed Al-Sabah the Director of Public Relations and Media said on Saturday that a symposium will be held on Monday to discuss the impact of the Coronavirus on the oil industry and the role of the oil media in confronting the crisis. Shiekha Tamader Al-Sabah representative of the State of Kuwait and member of the committee of specialists in oil media of the Gulf Cooperation Council states, said in a press statement that this symposium comes in parallel with the impact of the Coronavirus pandemic on the oil industry from an economic perspective, and talks about the prospects for the stability of oil markets and the impact of surplus stocks in putting pressure on prices. The symposium would be attended by several oil specialists from in and out of Kuwait and it would be organized by the Gulf Cooperation Council Secretariat through visual communication/ through via conference. Also, the role of petroleum media and challenges after Coronavirus pandemic amid the potential changes of the economic and social system and the issue of limited oil demand and what climate scientists promote. The symposium will be attended by Kuwait’s National representative to the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) oil expert Mohammed Al-Shatti, President of the International Advisory Group of the King Abdullah Center for Petroleum Studies and Research (KAPSARC) Dr. Majid Al-Munif, Assistant Undersecretary for the Oil, Gas and Mineral Resources Sector and the Governor of the United Arab Emirates to the Organization of Petroleum Development (OPEC), Ahmed Al-Kaabi The symposium will be moderated by the Director in charge of the Electricity, Energy and Water Department at the General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Mohamed Rashidi and would be interspersed with a virtual workshop on GoToWebinar.
