Ministry of Oil launches the third edition of the “Oil Innovates” Award

For the third year in a row, and as part of its ongoing efforts to support creativity and talents, the Ministry of Oil announced the launch of the third edition of the "Oil Innovates" Award, which aims to enhance innovation and develop the work environment within the Ministry, and develop innovative solutions that contribute to raising performance efficiency and increasing sustainability, reflecting the Ministry's commitment to advancing development, improving performance and achieving excellence.
The Ministry of Oil confirmed in a press statement that the third edition of the award comes in a strategic partnership with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity - one of the centers of the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences, as part of joint efforts to discover and develop national talents. This partnership enhances the Ministry's commitment to encouraging innovation in its various departments, with a focus on enhancing the skills of employees and motivating them to present ideas and projects that will advance internal work.
She said that the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Giftedness and Creativity will provide its extensive experience in sponsoring innovation and supporting talented people, which contributes to directing creative ideas towards achieving tangible successes in the oil sector, and enhancing digital transformation processes by exploiting modern technology to improve operational processes and develop sustainable and innovative solutions.
Encouraging Creativity
The ministry stated that the award seeks to encourage creativity by motivating employees to present innovative ideas and projects that will improve the performance of the oil sector, and develop competencies by enhancing employees' skills and upgrading their capabilities by stimulating innovation, and enhancing cooperation by involving the various departments in the ministry in creative efforts to improve performance and achieve sustainability by developing ideas that help achieve sustainability goals through innovative solutions.
As part of the award activities, the Ministry of Oil stated that introductory meetings will be organized for talented students affiliated with the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, next Tuesday, October 8, 2024, to explain the importance of the award and how to participate in it. A special meeting will also be allocated for female students from the talent classes on October 16, with the aim of encouraging them to participate and highlighting their role in innovation.
The Ministry of Oil extended its thanks and appreciation to Mr. Nada Abdullah Al-Daihani, Director General of the Sabah Al-Ahmad Center for Talent and Creativity, for his continuous support to make this partnership a success. It also extended its thanks to Mr. Mohammed Al-Baqshi, Acting Director of the Talent Department, for his efforts in this regard.
Sponsors and Awards
The Ministry indicated that Gulf Bank will be one of the main sponsors of the award, along with a number of other sponsors who will contribute to the success of the third season of the award, as the award activities will start from mid-October and continue until the end of November, and participation will be individual or a group consisting of 3 students.
The Ministry confirmed that the awards will be distributed to the winners of the first three places, and the participating departments include: Drilling and Production Department, Exploration and Development Department, Environment and Safety Department, Energy Research Department, and Information Systems Center Department.
At the end of its statements, the Ministry of Oil explained that the "Oil Innovates" award represents a unique opportunity to enhance the culture of innovation within the Ministry, and to deepen cooperation between the various departments, in order to ensure a more sustainable and advanced future for the oil sector in Kuwait.
