Ministry of Oil stresses importance of Gulf cooperation at 18th meeting of Petroleum Undersecretaries

His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, stressed the importance of enhancing joint cooperation between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries in the field of oil and gas in order to confront the regional and global challenges facing the oil market.
Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah's speech came on the occasion of his participation at the head of a delegation from the Ministry of Oil in the eighteenth meeting of the Committee of Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Petroleum in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, scheduled to be held in the State of Qatar on Monday, September 30, 2024. The delegation accompanying Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah includes the Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Media, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, the Director of the Planning and International Relations Department, Ms. Manahil Al-Rashidi, and the Director of the Office of the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Mr. Mudhi Al-Shammari.
Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah explained in a press statement issued by the Ministry of Oil that this meeting comes in preparation for the meeting of the Petroleum Cooperation Committee at the level of oil ministers, which will be held on October 6, 2024, where many important issues will be discussed to enhance joint work between member states.
He pointed out that the agenda includes discussing and approving 4 main topics, in addition to 6 other topics presented for review and briefing.
His Excellency the Undersecretary stated that the Ministry of Oil emphasizes the importance of effective coordination between the Gulf Cooperation Council countries to face future challenges in the energy sector, unify visions and present a unified Gulf vision on the international scene that enhances the region's position as a major source of energy.
Enhancing integration
For her part, the Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Media at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said that the meeting of the Undersecretaries of the Ministries of Oil reflects the importance of cooperation between our countries in this vital sector, and emphasizes the ongoing need to enhance Gulf integration in the oil and gas sector, as the meeting comes at an important time when the world is witnessing rapid changes in energy markets.
She pointed out that the State of Kuwait always places Gulf cooperation at the forefront of its priorities, and through this meeting we look forward to strengthening the ties that bind our countries, and working together to direct efforts towards achieving economic and environmental sustainability in the oil and energy sector. Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah added that Gulf cooperation is a fundamental pillar in enhancing the stability of oil markets, and that integration between the GCC countries in facing increasing challenges will contribute to enhancing our competitive capabilities at the global level, and secure the future of the oil and energy sector in the region.
