The Public Relations and Petroleum Media Department at the Ministry of Oil organized an introductory lecture this morning, Tuesday, July 23, 2024, in the theater of the Oil Sector Complex, entitled “Procedures and instructions followed during the travel season,” in cooperation with the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, and Health, and was attended by a number of employees of the Ministry of Oil and the Petroleum Corporation. At the beginning of the symposium, the Director of Public Relations and Petroleum Media at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, welcomed the attendees and stressed the Ministry’s keenness to raise awareness and educate its employees during the summer season by implementing a set of procedures and directives to ensure their safety, health, and safe return to the homeland.
She praised the permanent coordination between the Ministry of Oil and the various ministries and bodies in Kuwait to disseminate procedures and instructions related to the travel season, considering this vital to ensure an effective and comprehensive application of preventive measures.

Travel tips
For his part, Musaed Ahmed Al-Lahou from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs provided a set of advice to travelers, which included ensuring the validity of travel documents, obtaining tourist visas from embassies or approved offices, not carrying cash amounts exceeding the permissible amount or gold jewelry, and making sure not to carry unauthorized therapeutic medications. Health services for travelers
For his part, Dr. Ghazi Muhanna Al-Mutairi from the Ports and Borders Health Department at the Ministry of Health reviewed the “Traveller’s Clinic,” which provides preventive health care services to travelers in the country, such as vaccinations, medications, and preventive advice to prevent travel-related diseases. He pointed out that there are 6 traveler health clinics distributed throughout all regions of the country, to facilitate access to health services and ensure obtaining the necessary care before traveling.
Al-Mutairi discussed health advice before traveling, such as assessing health risks based on the destination and planned activities, providing routine and travel-specific vaccinations, preventive medications for malaria and treatments for diarrhea in travelers, and advice related to food and water safety and prevention of insect bites.
He also stressed the importance of the Travelers Clinic in reducing the risks of infectious diseases and health problems associated with travel, and meeting the requirements of some countries that require vaccinations, such as yellow fever.
Al-Mutairi touched on future trends in travel medicine, noting that technological progress has made it possible to provide remote medical consultations, electronic health records, and mobile health applications. He also talked about global health initiatives, cooperation with global health organizations, research and development in travel vaccines and treatments, and raising awareness through digital platforms and social media.
Ministry of Interior advice
For his part, Colonel Othman Ghareeb Al Mansouri from the Ministry of Interior gave a presentation that included advice to travelers, stressing the need to preserve the passport and not be drawn into electronic fraud when booking travel tickets and hotels at low prices to avoid fake tickets.
