The Ministry of Oil signs an agreement of understanding with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research

• Sheikh Dr. Nimr Fahd Al-Malik Al-Sabah: The memorandum carries a huge impact to enhance research cooperation and achieve the optimal technical and engineering partnership. • Transferring knowledge and building capabilities through exchanging technical expertise among specialists, holding joint events and seminars, collecting data, and exchanging research The Ministry of Oil signed a memorandum of understanding with the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research this morning, Monday, July 1, 2024, at the Ministry’s headquarters, in the presence of His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, and the Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Technical Affairs, Eng. Khaled Walid Al-Din, in the presence of the Director of the Environment and Safety Department at the Ministry of Oil, Eng. Iman Muhammad Al-Wadani and the agency’s environmental monitoring supervisor, Eng. Mona Abdullah Malak and Hadeel Darwish Al-Aradi. The Acting Director General of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Dr., attended from the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research. Mishaan Al-Otaibi, and Acting Executive Director of the Environment and Life Sciences Research Center, Dr. Afaf Al-Nasser, and scientific researcher at the Environmental and Life Sciences Research Center, Dr. Sultan Al-Salem and Public Relations Officer Latifa Al-Wazzan. The Ministry of Oil said in a press statement that the memorandum of understanding aims to coordinate and cooperate between the Ministry of Oil and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research to achieve the public good, and to enhance cooperation between the two parties in the field of scientific and technical research, in addition to exchanging experiences that are in line with the requirements of the times and the objectives of scientific research, and implementing the Ministry’s objectives. Rooted since its establishment to preserve the sources of petroleum wealth of the State of Kuwait, especially those related to environmental affairs. In this context, His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, affirmed that the Ministry is committed to enhancing research work and contributing to the preparation of studies related to the petroleum industry, and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research attaches great importance to scientific research, especially in the fields of petroleum, through Providing distinguished scientific and practical applications and contributing to the exchange of knowledge and experiences with all parties, stressing that the memorandum of understanding aims to enhance technical and engineering partnership and optimal knowledge cooperation in research, development and training in the fields of petroleum, environment and energy transformation. Achieving the public good His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil stressed that the memorandum of understanding between the two sides has a significant impact on achieving the public interest of the State of Kuwait, which includes inaugurating research cooperation through the exchange of scientific knowledge and the technical results of research and scientific expertise, and the transfer of knowledge and capacity building through the exchange of technical expertise between specialists. Holding research and technical events, collecting data and information, exchanging and analyzing research in accordance with the systems and regulations governing and available resources, and implementing joint research projects related to the petroleum industry, especially those related to environmental issues, climate change and sustainability. He added that the aspects of cooperation between the Ministry of Oil and the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research also include developing human resources capabilities through establishing joint training programs, exchanging visits by experts and researchers, and organizing joint scientific seminars and conferences in the field of oil and gas. His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil expressed his hope that the outcomes of the memorandum of understanding will meet the ambition of the two sides for scientific cooperation and participation in adopting modern and promising technologies that have technical, economic and environmental advantages that are in the interest of Kuwait, developing its national resources and building capabilities through creative ideas, knowledge and information.
