H.E. Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil Dr. Imad AlAtiqi participates in the meeting of Joint Ministerial Committee for Production Control in (OPEC Plus)
His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Oil and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Petroleum Corporation (KPC), Dr. Imad AlAtiqi, praised the results of the fifty-second meeting of the Joint Ministerial Committee for Production Control (JMMC) of OPEC+, which was held via video conference on Thursday, the first of February 2024, in the presence of the Governor of the State of Kuwait to OPEC, Mr. Mohammad Khuder Al-Shatti, and the National Representative of the State of Kuwait to OPEC, Sheikh Abdullah Sabah Salem Al-Homoud Al-Sabah.
In a press statement issued by the Ministry of Oil, Dr. Imad AlAtiqi stressed that the oil market is witnessing balance, and this is reinforced by the voluntary cuts implemented by the coalition countries from the beginning of January 2024 until the end of March 2024. Dr. Imad Al-Atiqi explained that as producers, we care about the security of supplies to the oil market.
Furthermore, he praised the collective cooperation and harmony in OPEC Plus and its keenness to continue to follow up and monitor market developments and adhere to decisions that will ensure the stability and balance of the market.
His Excellency the Minister stressed that the State of Kuwait is committed to the voluntary cuts that it committed to within the OPEC Plus alliance, which amounted to 135,000 barrels per day, starting from the first of January 2024, until the end of March 2024.
