The Ministry of Oil announced its participation in the Kuwait International Book Fair in its forty-sixth session, which is held under the patronage of His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and was opened by His Excellency the Minister of Information and Minister of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Abdul Rahman Al-Mutairi, at the International Fairgrounds in Mishrif during the period from 22 November to December 2, 2023.
On this occasion, the Director of Public Relations and Information at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamadur Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said that the Ministry of Oil’s participation in the book fair in its current session comes with the aim of reviewing the Ministry’s intellectual production, enhancing cultural communication, as well as displaying various and new publications, whether digital or electronic, that monitor the industry. She added that, in conjunction with the Kuwait International Book Fair, the Ministry of Oil launched its latest program for digital transformation, which is the issuance of a book using artificial intelligence technology, through which it reviews the pioneering and pivotal role of Kuwaiti women in the oil industry, as the ministry used voice and writing for the first time through artificial intelligence technology represented by the virtual broadcaster. She said that the book “Women in the Oil Sector... A Pioneering Role and Distinctive Achievements” is considered the second book presented by the Ministry of Oil using artificial intelligence technology, after the great success achieved by the Ministry at the level of ministries and the oil sector in launching the first book using artificial intelligence technology to narrate the emergence of the oil sector and learn about it. The pioneers and their efforts in developing the oil industry in the country, indicating that the first book used only voice, while the second book used a voice and writing system using artificial intelligence technology.
Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah indicated that the Ministry of Oil’s pavilion will provide a pioneering experience for its visitors, represented by the use of a robot through which guests can scan the code to enter the Ministry of Oil’s website and browse the Ministry’s electronic publications and magazines, in order to facilitate visitors and integrate modern technology with reality. She stated that the Ministry of Oil team from the Public Relations and Media Department is scheduled to participate in working sessions and lectures on the sidelines of the exhibition to highlight the role and importance of the oil sector in Kuwait, and the Ministry’s Petroleum Culture Committee will participate in oil awareness lectures on the importance of the petroleum industry for visiting school students.
Sheikha Tamader Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah concluded her speech by saying: “The Kuwait International Book Fair is considered an important cultural event, attracting hundreds of thousands of audiences and those interested in Arab cultural affairs, and the Ministry of Oil is keen to participate in the exhibition annually on a permanent basis.”
