Out of the Ministry of Oil’s keenness to highlight the international status of the State of Kuwait through active participation in regional organizations, the Ministry of Oil participated in the sixth meeting of the Petroleum and Gas Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, as well as the meeting of the team responsible for updating the media strategy of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, in the city of Muscat, Sultanate of Oman during the period From October 31, 2023 until November 1, 2023.
The Ministry of Oil said in a press statement that the meeting was attended by representatives of the State of Kuwait, namely the Director of Public Relations and Information at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamadur Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, and the Superintendent of Organizations and International Relations, Omar Al-Wasmi.
She stated that the meeting discussed all the items on the agenda, including recommendations for petroleum media in the GCC countries, activating cooperation between national oil companies in the GCC countries, reviewing the proposals of the State of Kuwait regarding the committee of petroleum media specialists, and approving the updated petroleum media strategy for the GCC countries. .
In this context, the Director of Public Relations and Information at the Ministry of Oil, Sheikha Tamadur Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, said that the Petroleum Media Specialists Committee held many meetings to discuss and determine the oil strategy for the Gulf countries and to determine the nature of the updated strategy, its vision, mission, objectives, and the time period scheduled for its implementation, indicating that the strategy was proposed. By the State of Kuwait, it was approved and a committee of petroleum media experts in the Gulf states was appointed to discuss and develop the main features of this strategy.
She stated that the updated petroleum media strategy for the Gulf countries focused on enhancing the petroleum culture within the GCC countries, strengthening cooperation between the petroleum media bodies affiliated with the petroleum ministries and national companies in the GCC countries with local and international media, highlighting the petroleum status of the GCC countries, and emphasizing the importance of the GCC countries as a major and reliable source of energy. Emphasizing the strategic and economic importance of petroleum, and cooperation with international petroleum organizations in the field of petroleum media.
The Ministry of Oil indicated that the meeting reviewed the minutes of the fifth meeting of the Petroleum and Gas Committee and reviewed what was agreed upon by the small team to discuss updating the petroleum media strategy for the GCC countries.
Among the agenda items was discussion of preparations for the Fifth Petroleum Media Forum, and the participation of the General Secretariat with its own pavilion in the Conference of the Parties (COP 28), which is scheduled to be hosted by the United Arab Emirates during the period from November 30 to December 12, 2023.
She stated that the Ministry of Oil’s participation in the sixth meeting of the Petroleum and Gas Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries was effective and pivotal, as the proposals of the State of Kuwait were presented regarding the Petroleum Media Specialists Committee, and the updated petroleum media strategy for the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, which was worked on in cooperation and coordination with the Public Relations and Media Department in the Ministry.
The meeting discussed many topics related to coordination and cooperation between member states in the field of oil, gas and mineral resources, which include joint cooperation between the GCC countries and joint Gulf action.
