(KIPIC): We supplied the Doha West Power Plant with low sulfur fuel oil

The Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) announced the start of supplying the Doha West Electricity Generating Station of the Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy with low-sulfur fuel oil in line with the requirements of the Environmental Protection Law in order to reduce the percentage of polluting emissions.
Quebec said in a press statement today, Tuesday, that this “achievement” works to reduce the percentage of air polluting emissions, which contributes to preserving the environment and thus preserving public health.
The statement quoted the Executive Vice President for Administrative and Commercial Affairs and KEPIC spokesman, Abdullah Al-Ajmi, confirming that the company succeeded in continuing to provide (electricity and water) with constant, stable and environmentally safe supplies estimated at more than 833 thousand metric tons of low-sulfur fuel oil from the beginning of the refinery’s operation until present time.
Al-Ajmi stated that this quantity is gradually increasing according to the plan drawn up in coordination with the global marketing sector at the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation to meet the increasing demand for electrical energy as a result of population and urban growth.
He explained that the drawn up plan aims to achieve internal self-sufficiency, praising the fruitful cooperation with (Electricity and Water) in this regard.
He stated that the third refinery in the Al-Zour Petroleum Complex, which is the seventh largest oil refinery in the world, will be operated with a refining capacity of 615,000 barrels per day of crude oil and 535,000 barrels per day of heavy oil mixture “within a few weeks, specifically before the end of this month of October, as tests are currently being conducted.” necessary and to ensure the safety of the units in the refinery.”
