The Ministry of Oil signed a memorandum of understanding with the Arab Planning Institute this morning, Monday, February 21, 2022, in the presence of His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, and the Director-General of the Arab Planning Institute, His Excellency Dr. Bader Othman Malallah, with the aim of strengthening scientific and research cooperation between the two parties. Developing joint knowledge projects, raising the competencies of human cadres, and supporting the decision-making process.
The Ministry of Oil said in a press statement, that the memorandum of understanding with the Arab Planning Institute comes within a series of memoranda of understanding signed by the Ministry of Oil with many parties during the last period, noting that the memorandum aims to strengthen development cooperation frameworks and raise the level of workers by providing a variety of series. From capacity building services, training, advisory services, institutional support services in all its forms, development research services and publishing.

In this context, His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil, Sheikh Dr. Nimer Fahad Al-Malik Al-Sabah, said that the Ministry of Oil is keen to exploit and develop the country's petroleum wealth according to the best ways and to ensure the development of the state's resources, increase its national income, ensure the safety of workers, the environment and facilities, and the memorandum of understanding will enhance economic development. Through the use of innovative technologies and techniques, and by encouraging and activating the ministry’s role in supporting the downstream oil industries and digital transformation in the oil sector.
Sheikh Nimer Al-Sabah explained that the memorandum of understanding comes from the experience of the Ministry of Oil and the Arab Planning Institute in building human and institutional capacities, and what they have of technical and administrative cadres in the areas of capacity building, training, consultancy, institutional support, studies, forums and various development activities.
Raising the efficiency of employees
He pointed out that the memorandum also includes capacity building and training, where the two parties will cooperate in the field of capacity building and training in order to raise the efficiency of workers in the Ministry of Oil, where joint training programs will be implemented in development areas that fall within the common interests of the two parties, and the exchange of trainers and training experiences.
Sheikh Nimr Fahd Al-Malik Al-Sabah stressed the cooperation of the Ministry of Oil and the Arab Planning Institute in organizing development forums, seminars, specialized workshops, forums, conferences and public lectures, and exchanging invitations between the two parties to participate in the activities implemented by each party.
He explained that the memorandum of understanding also includes preparing joint applied studies and research between the Ministry of Oil and the Arab Planning Institute, exchanging experiences in the fields of studies and applied research between the two parties, exchanging published research and publications, translating, publishing or re-publishing, distributing development publications, exchanging information and its sources and experiences in the areas of cooperation.
