His Excellency the Minister of Oil visits the new administration building of Al-Zour Refinery

The Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company (KIPIC) announced the reception of His Excellency Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Oil, Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy Dr. Muhammad Abdul Latif Al-Faris and Acting CEO of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation, Eng. Wafa Al-Zaabi and the accompanying delegation, on Saturday morning, corresponding to January 22, 2022 in the administrative building To the new Al-Zour refinery, where His Excellency, accompanied by the accompanying delegation, conducted an inspection visit, which included the new administrative building of the Al-Zour Oil Refinery and Projects, in order to find out the development of work progress and the latest developments in preparation for the upcoming operation of the refinery.
They were received by the Acting CEO of Integrated Petroleum, Mr. Waleed Al-Badr, Executive Vice President of Al-Zour Refinery, Mr. Khaled Al-Awadi, Executive Vice President of Petrochemicals and Liquefied Gas and Acting Executive Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs Mr. Abdullah Fahad Al-Ajmi, along with a number of company officials.
His Excellency Minister Dr. Muhammad Al-Faris and Acting CEO of the Corporation, Eng. Wafaa Al-Zaabi, listened to an explanation given by the Director of the Al-Zour Refinery Group of Major Projects, Mr. Ibrahim Al-Awadi, about the latest developments in the work in the Al-Zour Refinery project. The Director of Operations Group for Al-Zour Refinery, Mr. Muhammad Al-Ajmi, also reviewed the operational steps of the refinery. The Director of the Operations Group for Liquefied Gas, Mr. Muhammad Al-Otaibi, also provided a full explanation about the progress of work in the permanent facilities for importing liquefied natural gas.
Then His Excellency and the accompanying delegation, accompanied by the Acting CEO of the Corporation, Eng. Wafaa Al Zaabi, and the Acting CEO of Integrated Petroleum, Mr. Walid Al-Badr, along with the Vice Presidents, went on an inspection tour of the Al-Zour Oil Complex projects, which started from the new administrative building of Al-Zour Refinery at 10:00 :45 am.
Integrated Petroleum is currently preparing to launch the operations of the Al-Zour refinery at the beginning of the first quarter of this year. It is the largest refinery in the world that is built in a single phase, which the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company is building and operating according to the strategic plan of the Kuwait Petroleum Corporation 2030 with the aim of providing energy and filling part of the needs of the Ministry of Electricity and Water for clean fuel.
The refinery will refine 615,000 barrels per day of crude oil. After the petrochemical projects are completed and attached to the refinery, in addition to the permanent facilities for importing liquefied natural gas, the "Al-Zour Oil" complex will become one of the largest integrated oil complexes in the world, which includes a refinery, petrochemical projects and facilities for importing liquefied natural gas. These three projects will also contribute to maximizing the return for the national economy, diversifying sources of national income, providing local clean energy needs, as well as providing job opportunities for national cadres.
The employees of the Integrated Petroleum are making great efforts without stopping to complete the construction of the complex and operate the projects according to the highest international standards in order to achieve operational excellence, driven by their passion to make more possible for the State of Kuwait.
It is worth noting that this is the first visit of His Excellency Minister Dr. Muhammad Al-Faris to Integrated Petroleum after His Excellency assumed the portfolio of the Ministry of Oil for the second time. Which confirms the government's keenness and appreciation for the vital role that the Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company will play in supporting the country's economy.
