The Minister of Oil, State Minister for National Assembly Affairs Dr. Ali Al-Omair said that the importance of oil issue is not confined in Kuwait but in the whole world, and it is important to educate students either through the curriculum or school activities.
In a statement to reporters during his participation in honoring the most outstanding students in Cordoba secondary School for Females Al-Omair said that a study by the Ministry of Oil and the Ministry of Education to choose the best way to educate students on the oil issue due to its global importance.
He told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that the decline in oil prices did not affect the Ministry of Education projects so far, to the fact that the financial year is taken over a whole year and not over days, adding: "Yes, oil prices are low, but as we have seen decline waves, it’s also possible to see rise waves and we all hope that the Ministry of Education important and key projects and other government agencies are not affected."
Dr. Al-Omair said that the directives of His Highness the Amir, is to transform Kuwait into renewable energy by 15 percent by 2030 as one of the government tasks which will carried out by the government.
He pointed out that the whole world today is interested in this energy to shift away from petroleum fuels noting that the State of Kuwait as a state oil has environmental obligations that must be taken into account.
He confirmed the actual commencement of applying some experimental project in places such as Al Abdaliya and some government places and cooperative societies, indicating that it is important to achieve the 15 percent mentioned by His Highness, the Amir.
The oil minister stressed that the educational issue in Kuwait is on top of issues that need attention and support, as they enjoyed His Highness’s directives towards the need to focus on training, qualifying and educating the human element.
He added that His Highness, the Prime Minister directives in this regard are clearly visible indicating that he emphasized that the educational process in Kuwait is significant to establish a citizen on the basis of correct and good citizenship pointing out to the female students’ eligibility to this honoring and support.
