The member and decision maker at the Senior Committee of preparing for the Oil Media Meeting of the Cooperation Council and the Manager of Oil Media and Public relations at the Ministry of Oil Mr. Anwar Al Alkhaldi has said in his speech during the third session of the meeting which was held yesterday under the title of the importance of the media means in spreading end enforcing oil culture in communities and that cooperation between the Council Countries in the field of oil media comes for the purpose of achieving the set goals and the protection of the interests of the Cooperation Council in the economic and petroleum affairs.
Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's CEO, Farouk Al-Zanki, said that the first GCC countries Oil Media Forum aims at preserving natural resources, preserving the environment and working to address constraints facing the petroleum industry since oil is considered an enemy to the environment.
The deputy assistant of Oil Ministry for Economic Affairs and the national representative of the State of Kuwait in the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) Nawal Al-Fezih said that new discoveries of oil shale will be one of the axes of OPEC ministers meeting at the end of next May.
The Director of Information Department and editor of Taawoun Magazine at the GCC General Secretariat Dr. Rabia Subah Kuwari during the first session of the GCC Oil Media Forum, organized by the Ministry of Oil, stressed on the need to prepare media professionals in oil media through specialized colleges and universities in this sector, as well as the importance of oil research as a source of specialized knowledge in the dissemination of petroleum culture.
His Excellency the Minister of Oil Eng Hani Hussein opened the Oil Media Forum representing the Forum's patron HH the Prime Minister in the presence of the Saudi oil Minister Ali Al-Naimi, Minister of Finance in the Kingdom of Bahrain the supervisor of oil and gas committee Sheikh Ahmed Bin Mohammed Al-Khalifa, the Emirati Deputy Minister of Energy Dr. Matar Al-Neyadi and a number of GCC oil leaders and the OPEC and OAPEC organizations.
In a statement to reporters during the opening of the GCC Oil Media Forum yesterday, Al-Naimi said that the KSA is happy to host the the second Oil Media Forum in its next session that will take place in 2015, expressing his gratitude and appreciation of the Kuwaiti Government and the Minister of Oil Hani Hussein for the good organization of this important event. He highlighted that the Forum will be a good start for the development of professional media in the GCC.
“The GCC Petroleum Media Forum is currently preparing the first version that will be launched in the State of Kuwait on March 25th – 26th 2013 under the auspicious of the Prime Minister HH Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al Sabah”
Adel Abdul Aziz Al-Jassim, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Control and Petroleum Mass Media Affairs at the Ministry of Oil and Vice Chancellor of the Supreme Preparation Committee for GCC Petroleum Media Forum, stated that the Ministry finished its new communication about the Thirteenth International Energy Forum held on the territories of the State of Kuwait on March 12th and 14th 2012.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Oil that organized the first petroleum media forum of the Arab Gulf Cooperation Council countries declared that it is expected that the Saudi Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, His Excellency Mr. Ali Al Naimi participates on the head of his country delegation participating in the forum during the period extending from 25-26 March 2013.
